I have to write a tutorial....
I did a pano with the tripod on a WALL, 90 degrees...
I use NO levelling base at all.
You just set 2 vertical lines on PTgui/PTmac...
NO problem, NO wavy horizon.
You are completely on the wrong track Luca.
Please Do not say this to people who are new at stitching.
You are creating LARGE problems for people who are new at panoramas.
Leveling is the most important thing of all, in any kind of panoramic
photography intended to be used as an interactive panorama.
I see people having the problem all the time.
Just seen a whole website today with seasick panoramas.
The problem is that both PTGui and PTMac are able to stitch the
panoramas very well even if they are not leveled.
Also RealViz stitcher seems to be able to do it with bad result in
leveling.
By the way PTMac has no such option as vertical/horisontal lines.
And it is not always possible to find horisontal or vertical lines to
adjust with.
And do not believe that you can do leveling with a hotshoe bubble level.
Hotshoes are not accurate.
It is the rotating base which is the most important.
Also automatic stitchers are completely dependent on accurate leveling.
You can of course do it in photoshop before stitching but this is extra
unnecessary work.
This is the same for Photovista-QTVRAS-Panorama factory or any other
automatic stitcher.
