I do have one friend who has the S2 Pro
and another friend who has the 16mm fisheye Nikkor
Do you think it would be a better choice than the 8mm on a D200 ???
I need to make a CYLINDRICAL image to be printed in a big plotter !!!

Depends on what vertical FOV you need
With the S2 Pro you will only get 86 degrees
If that is enough you will get around 12.000 pixels wide panorama
You could also use the 16mm on the 14N and get about the same size but with a FOV of 138 degrees.

Ok guys, first of all THANKS a lot to all who replied to me.
It's a lot of people ... Hans, Rodolpho, Carl, Landis, Robert, Roger, Andrew, Paul, etc...
Anyway here we go in the next move I did and how I'm in more trouble yet :-)
My Client wants to make a big plotter from a 360º. It will be 7,5 X 1,5 meters printed w/ 72 dpi
That means more or less a 21.000 pixels wide image.
I shot 12 clicks (at 30º) with the D200 using a Nikkor 16mm fullframe fisheye, f:11 at 1/125 ISO 100 NEF (3872 X 2592)

Now I'm getting trouble because I can not make anything good enough.
If I'm using PTMAC I can not figure out which LENS parameters to add to my database and it just does NOT make a good stich (I'm not even saying "perfect"). How does Hans calculate this would be a 86 degrees ???

Using my old PHOTOVISTA 1.0.1 it shows me a perfect "preview", but... after the full stich finishes, it does save a corrupted pano image completely brown !?!?! with just 1,2mb but with around 16.000 ...

And using my old QTVRAS 1.0.1 it does NOT make the stich! It shows me on the window-box just strange coloured lines all over during blending.
I also tried shoot with a S2 Pro w/same lens, and I'm having the SAME problem as above

AND I also shot using the D70, which if I use PHOTOVISTA, makes a perfect blend and a nice pano, BUT too small size for what I need now ...

And if I try to make bare-hands with PhotoMerge at PS CS2, I can not get a perfect 360º, besides it's taking me forever to retouch every little detail ...

HELP !!! HELP, HELP ! Any ideas ??? THANKS in advance.

BTW: I'm using a
MAC G4
500 mhz
1.5 RAM
OS X 10.3.9
QT 7.1
PTMAC 4.1
PS CS2

Thanks again

AYRTON
