Thanks to all for the suggestions. I was aware of the open faces view but had been avoiding it since discovering a bug (go to single face view, click in label field to give it focus, click open faces button, kaboom) and since you can't label hotspots in that view. However, it does seem like it's going to be my best option. It should work out most of the time.

Which is of course what I encountered on the first pano. :-/ But that will hopefully be relatively infrequent. Now I just wish I could draw circular and oval hotspots. Yeah, you can approximate them with a polygon, but polygons are much more time consuming to draw, and they aren't as aesthetically pleasing. Gosh I'm picky... ;-)
