Re: TotallyHip totally gone? new installation

I invested in the company... I bought the program and took the time to learn it.
I never thought about the company name,
but I don't want to buy/learn another program to do the job. (iShell by Tribeworks?? another funny name i guess)

My concern is:  does anyone know if I can install LSP 4.6 with it's copy protect on line registration verification on a new machine or is that system now dead?????
Thanks,
Curt

Did you invest in this company and loose money or know the owners?

You come off as upset with his opinion of the name.

Just my opinion.

Names like "Totally Hip" remain useful and palatable for only

short periods of time as they have more than a tinge of arrogance

some sort of strange business model that was a subscription

service of some kind with recurring charges, you didn't just buy

software which is the normal business model in the industry.  If I

remember correctly, you paid a certain rather steep fee for a

startup, and then there were continuing charges that automatically

kept recurring if you wanted to use the software.

You're thinking of Ipix, not Totally Hip. I bought LivestagePro 3

for a good price, then upgraded to to the greatly improved v.4 for

a reasonable fee, and received free upgrades (with added features)

for quite a while after that. If they ever had a "software

subscription" model, I never heard of it...

I don't know if the product was good or not, but I do know that I

found a company with offensive names and the arrogance to attempt

to invent a new business model as well too distasteful to do

business with.

If you've never used the product or dealt with the company in any

way (and from that you got "obnoxious, offensive" and "arrogant" ?

Oh, please...), then you're hardly informed on the subject - past,

present, or future. At this point THS has gone down in flames and

left a vacuum in the QT authoring world, but that is due to their

own business decisions and a changing marketplace and very few of

us know what really happened or where it's headed.
