It may not result in great resolution but it is certainly a clever solution. In the case of Matrix the people were shot separately against green screen then composited into the background using 3D software, as I recall. Anyway, I had the same thought as you and probably most people of "surely this was done using bullet time technique". I'm sure it occurred to the production team and they decided that for what they needed bullet time wouldn't work or wouldn't be cost effective. There may have been an article about that a year or two ago. In any case, looking at that behind the scenes video from Syndicate of what I expect will be the next Ikea Dream Kitchen ad, there is no way it could be done using bullet time. I'm not sure that would be true for 2005 and all but the opening of 2006. --
