We are using 50 cameras, but KOKOKAKA used 100 (if you count the
frames in

work is
CGI, as if you move to the extremes of each shot, which is where
you would
see the cameras, there is some very poor CGI work, but as the mind
is so
distracted at other parts of the image, you don’t see it. Also
things like
the champagne cork popping etc are CGI, which is done very well,
but not too
difficult to produce with a standard 3D package such as 3D studio
max or
Lightwave.
The shoot my client had in mind to create a similar effect:
o A "bullet time" fly around of a car, shot outdoors on location,
on non-level ground. The plan was to do a circular zoom-in (not
a simple circuit). The animation had to be completely smooth
and have at least 72 frames, "like the Ikea movies".
o Because we were to shoot in a public beach, plaza or street, we
had only @ 2 hours total from unpack to repack for each shoot.
o The total budget was @ $AUD 3000.
Hence my bent-pin smile.
In the end we _did_ end up putting a camera on a tripod and moving it
around the car, but the resulting movie was just a "simple" outdoor
object movie of a car (of which you have seen already hundreds, so no
need to post the link).
