Your Windows machines are probably set to 16 bit. Very common for windows machines. My current stats at panoramas.dk for last week say 6% still have it. It may help setting the flag for HQ in the QTVR movie. I believe it still can be done in Quicktime pro. I have an old article here about it but it is not updated to todays Quicktime pro.
