Your Windows machines are probably set to 16 bit.
Very common for windows machines.
My current stats at panoramas.dk for last week say 6% still have it.
It may help setting the flag for HQ in the QTVR movie.
Try right click on desktop free area, select Properties, then go to Advanced
tab and drag the color depth slider to 24-bit or to 32-bit if available (you
may need to lower the screen resolution [then press Apply] in order to show
more color depth options). Then press OK to accept and close the dialog
(Apply button does similarly without closing the dialog [e.g. if you want to
test what happened and restore the option later without reopening that
dialog])
Also see QT control panel for graphics acceleration option (don't select use
GDI option there for example in normal machine setups)
