You probably don't want to hear this, but a similar render using PTGui on a near-identical machines takes less than half the time... ;-)

I'm always interested in other tools' performance. Especially with PTGui being much more affordable than a full license of Stitcher (a little less so if one's already owner of Sticher). It's just that i really like the live feedback of Stitcher, and i'm not in a position where i need to make every minute count (read: after-hour amateur, not pro with a tight schedule).

7200 x 3600, 6+1 shots with a 15mm fisheye on a 5D (larger source images).
Render to PSD, blended version plus unblended layers, interpolation bicubic normal.
2X2GHz G5 w. 4GB RAM, 10.4.8.

Sounds like it knows how to take advantage of a dual CPU :) or i need more RAM.

Definitely. More RAM. Can't go wrong with that ;) so i'll order my next Mac with 5 GB...

No, seriously: Maybe RAM is really THE issue here. Of course, there's the 4 GB per process limit with the current 32bit versions (or so i've heard), but the 8 hours for the 18000x9000 pictures were 90% disk access, 10% CPU, so the more RAM the better.
