You might want to check the hotlink_protector in the Files section of
PanotoolsNG <http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/PanoToolsNG/files/>

It is an extensible set of tools to protect against this sort of hot
linking.

The next extension, if there is interest, will be a little piece of code
to display a bogus QTVR instead of the hotlinked QTVR. The bogus QTVR
can includes messages such as: "you are combing from a site that does
not respect intellectual property".
