Downtown Seattle has seen big changes with the building of new luxury
hi-rise condominiums and up-scale shopping, bringing and end to that
quintessential downtown American establishment: the local Loan, Pawn
& Gun Shop!
After 64 years in business, the Central Loan & Gun Exchange will
close its doors forever on May 24. Marking and end to the downtown
"old school" pawn shop in Seattle (there was once over 20 of them in
the area).
Even though these VR shots were taken two days before closing and
show a decline in merchandise, it looks very much as it did in 1974
when John Wayne staged a scene here for his cop-action movie "Mc
Q" (one of his last movies).
