I have noticed that people are making full 360 X 180 VRT with
flawless floors (i.e You don't see the tripod) How is this possible
with out hours of PS work
Lots of practise developing the techniques - and then minutes of PS work? :-)
I use a 360Precision Absolute pano head (a rock-solid and wonderful
bit of kit!) and I shoot two down on the tripod (with the second at
180-degrees to patch together and remove the arm from the photos) and
then shoot another off the tripod but in roughly the same position
(to patch over the centre tripod cap).
Actually, I remember a friend showing me how he does this last 'cap
patch' shot simply by moving the tripod and camera setup over a few
feet and then tilt-warping the final photo into perspective. I must
try that for the next pano experiments; it can be a pain doing the
final off-tripod shot in low light conditions.
With practise and good pano head equipment the PS editing process can
be surprisingly quick.
