Thanks to link to that page that I just today updated a little bit :-)
That article still seems to lack the information that there is also
pangea VR's viewer for Macs that works as a plug-in from within
Photoshop. Hardware accelerated, just like SPi-V. Very handy to spot all
of those little mistakes in a pano that one just can't see in the flat view.
I'm just not sure where to add that information. But thanks for the
hint... - If someone has an idea: just get an account and edit!

It is possible to launch a spherical viewer from within Photoshop.
Using the "File | Jump To | viewer" menu item. http://wiki.panotools.org/Photoshop
There are some limitations. The file has to be saved and not all
viewers recognize psd file formate. But it is handy.
