Automator Action for File Management

I'm looking for an Automator action for sifting files for me. I take panoramas with both NEF and JPG files into one folder. I'd like to drop that folder on an action and have it separate my NEFs and JPGs into separate folders (preferably within the containing folder and on many enclosed folders).

Should be easy with Automator, no? Haven't figured it out on my own yet. Any help?

I know I've got an old AppleScript around here for this, but would like to get it going using the newer tools.
