The problem is how to store and retrieve panos on the iPod/Phone so that we can use the device to show off our work where ever we are, even in airplanes, or out in the country or the many other places where there is not going to be internet access.

Absolutely.

I live in London, and even in this huge city I keep finding places where the mobile network isn't as strong as it should be for a reasonable panorama demonstration. Sitting here in my office at college this morning, a 15 minute stroll away from South Bank and Waterloo, I tried to show Pangea VR to my Dean, but it wouldn't pull the list down the first time I tried. Pangea VR is amazing, but for a serious pitch-oriented portfolio it isn't ideal.

There is in the App Store something called FileMagnet that will upload any files including folders with the xml and jpgs needed for PangeaVR but I just don't know what the file paths would be to access the files in PangeaVR

I wonder... it could be simply a file:/// -style URL. I'll have a go, although I suspect I'll be fishing blind...
