I have been creating vrworx objects and mounting the qtvr using iWeb on a .mac site and the qtvr retains FULL functionality on the web page...
for ordinary mov (imported jpeg image sequences in this case), quicktime permits exporting multiple formats (eg .m4v) for web, including an iphone setting. (this is smart implementation that permits the website to transmit movies optimally depending on recipient characteristics).
those files go into iTunes playlists and are synched to devices like video ipods, itouch, iphone. there are apple support documents on debugging those transfers.
(i don't have a device.. yet.. i've seen pangeaVR work beautifully however on last years iphone.. and the teenagers in this house have been obtaining and moving tv programs and movies for months)
so.. has anyone tried synching a local qtvr onto a device and viewing, as opposed to pointing at a web address?

try using the itunes mechanism.. put the mov in the library and synch itunes.
Hmm. Interesting idea. However, one issue is that the images that Pangea VR uses aren't MOVs and QuickTime isn't actually used, they're equirectangular JPEGs and they're played using OpenGL.
I might be able to get them onto the iPhone using iPhoto... but I'm going to try the FileMagnet route as that will let me copy over the XML files that provide the text info as well.
