That seems crazy, I know.

Do it yourself. Its easy to do with Heat Shrink sleeves. They come in various sizes. Electricians work a lot with them when they splice wire or pvc conduit.
Its strong enough to hold up and snugs right to the lens barrel with hot air.

The other alternative is, in case your lens is shaved, to get a pvc pipe endcap and have it lathed out to 58mm and 61.35mm in steps so it fits without touching the glass.

On the other side you can glue a daylight filter or white balance filter in, so you don't have to pull the cap when measuring the light. That is what I have done with the sigma8 cap and if the modified
Nikkor lens cap will be lost, i will do the same again.


Ah, and another thing.....add a velcro tape to it and tack it to the pod or bag, what ever is convenient so it most like will not get lost again.
