I downloaded Director 11 today and opened one of my kiosk projects in
it. The xtra for Adobe Reader, Impressario, works with out an upgrade.
It only took me a few minutes to get the workspace laid out how I am
used to and it seems like it is good to go.
I haven't experimented with any import filters yet, but I have a slide
show from Pakistan that I would like to add some Flash video to, so I
will be trying that soon.
The upgrade price is $299.

Yes, I look forward to, and dread, Director 11. It seems that
sometimes I spend huge amounts of time getting my older projects to
work again on newer Directors. Years ago, we had three projects in
Dir 5 which could not be updated to Dir 6 without hundreds of hours of
hand-labor to fix them! So we basically abandoned the products, sigh...
As usual for this sort of app, I'll wait six months and let the
bleeding-edge adopters bleed a bit!

Have you had a chance to see Director 11 yet? It is being released
this week. It will be exciting to discover what support it has for
VR. I would expect that it will at least support Flash VR, but the
Adobe web site is vague about what new multimedia formats version 11
is going to support. They do specify that it will allow import for
Flash video formats.
I will be very interested to see if it allows scripting via Lingo of
the Flash video actions.
