I’ve followed the instructions on
this site many times and never had any problems (and always rid the sensor of
dust!) http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning cheers, Neil Castell From:

[mailto:quicktime-vr-bounces+lists=email@hidden] On Behalf Of Peter Gotlib Sorry for the off topic post people - but when it comes
to professional photography, this is simply one of the best resources I know
if! I am on a product photography gig and just noticed a
large smudge like streak pattern on the bottom left hand side of my pictures. I haven't used my camera in a while so I do not know how
or when this might have happened. On further inspection, I see a similar pattern on the
upper right hand corner of the Canon's sensor. The Canon's built in sensor cleaning unit fails to
remove the pattern. Nor does using the 'Sensor Brush' from visibledust.com
work. I do not know if the sensor has been blotted by smudge,
or damaged by a scratch. If it is a scratch - I guess there is nothing I can do
except have the sensor replaced. But if it is a smudge - what fluids can be safely used
to clean the sensor and how does one go about that? Or would it just be better to bring the unit into Canon
repair? Thank you for any advice. Peter G. |
