Yes, I realize that. I knew after I wrote that post that I worded it badly.

Not all panoheads permit this camera arm reversal trick.  The QuickPan Pro has a long horizontal arm and a reversible vertical component that makes it well-suited for this task.

But there is nothing new and specially not the way of shooting the  
nadir ...
It has been shown and used for years and not only by me i am sure ...

At least by Eric Rougier using a Manfrotto head (see "outside tripod  
rotation")
