Title: Re: QTVR from inside cars
SORRY IF LIST WILL RECEIVE THIS MAIL TWICE, BUT I DID’T SEE ON LIST THE FIRST ONE I SENT YESTERDAY.

Ciao.

Here you can see an example of car interior pano, made with

D70s and its dedicated Precision 360, on Feisol tripod (with much opened legs).

For the nadir shot, I kept the camera hand held, using my elbows like tripod,

because there was enough ligth.

It took much work in PS.

In this very old pano inside one helicopter, made with Nikon 990 and nikkor FCe8 fisheye,

stitched with Easypano (you can see the watermark: I never used Easypano more), I used

a Manfrotto monoclamp, fixed to what seems like the hand brake of a car, and Manfrotto minipole 122.

You can imagine it like a pole, but fixed and easily levelled.

I didn’t shoot the nadir, obviously, but only retouched the little panohead.

You can use the same pole shifted to take the nadir shot, also if there is low light.

I hope this can be helpfull.

Ciao.

Roberto.

Oggetto: RE: QTVR from inside cars

Hi,

The shots I took inside cars where with a tripod inside with a 360precision
absolute head.  I found this easier than shooting through the window as it
was much more stable, there is quite a lot of weight with the head and
camera.  Also going through the window I would worry about damaging the car
due to the rig falling over.

The nadir shot was then taken with a large Benbo tripod.  With very careful
placement of the camera for this shot it wasn't too much work in Photoshop
to stitch it.

You can see a couple of my shots on our gallery page -
http://www.sphereworks.co.uk/gallery.php

In the DB9 image it was a very small space, you have to be careful not to
damage anything with your gear !!  :)   I hope to do some more soon.

Cheers,

Pete

I remember seeing someone shoot a QTVR from inside a car.

I could use some feedback from people who have done this.

I could do it with my rig using tripod, but in the confined space of
a car, how would the tripod legs get "removed"?

Or, would a better setup be a monopod?
