One way to do this, like people are suggesting, is with scripts. But while the machines in my office all have SSH access turned on, yours may not.

You can have ARD copy your script over, and have it run the script. You could have the script fill in one of the four configurable fields in ARD on the client's machine, or you could have it email (using the bsd mail command) you the machine's localhostname and/or machinename as well as the serial number.
