How is this relevant? The fact that you'd be using ARD to initiate the audio chat wouldn't magically make a Mac that doesn't have sound-in all of a sudden have it. You're talking about a hardware limitation not a software one. This would limit both ARD's and iChat AV's ability to do audio chat. Also, I believe most iBooks have built-in microphones and if not they do have USB which can also be used for sound-in.
