Can I have a little more info on what exactly you did to resolve it?
In our case:
First issue, although I don't think it was actually related, was that
we have to primary DNS servers. A third server thought it had
authority on part of our internal IP range. Since the primary servers
had authority and were configured as such I don't see how that other
server, which is never contacted, would be related.
Second issue, and I'll quote 'cause it's not me saying this part:

The second problem was that there
was a WINS-R (reverse wins lookup) record that wasn't showing up in the
console. This was causing DNS to try to do an IP to Hostname lookup though
WINS if it didn't have a DNS record for an IP address. This was resolved
by converting 10.IN-ADDR.ARPA to a standard zone, deleting the record from
the DNS file and converting it back to an Active Directory integrated zone.
Another solution to a similar problem:
Quoting Derek from a previous post:

In our case an OS-X server was handling the local dns and the problem
went away when I added an (empty) reverse zone for the IP range
