I have no idea if this would work, BUT...
If you don't actually HAVE to INSTALL something to build an installer
package, and an installer package can run shell scripts, then couldn't you
just build a "!Installer" package and use the pre/postflight abilities of an
installer package to run the scripts you want?
If you HAVE to install a file, then I imagine you could just install a blank
file to /Users and then delete it as part of the postflight.
No, it's not what an installer package is SUPPOSED to do, but it seems like
a way to use the task server to run shell commands/scripts. And, it's kind
of demented and evil too, which makes it even cooler!
