Re: Security Update 2006-003 breaks ARD2.2 admin on Intel?

I experienced the same issue; I hope there will be a good solution for it.

in Activity Monitor as it suddenly stops updating.

We're stuck with using ARD 2.2 until at least next year, so this is a
big problem for us.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

I've been using the ARD2.2 on Intel Mac workaround as discussed
previously on this list. This morning I did software updates (Front Row,
Quicktime and Security), and now when I try and run ARD2.x admin, my
machine locks up/hangs so spectacularly that the only escape is by
holding down the power button and starting again. I doubt (but won't
discount) that a quicktime or front row update will affect ARD, so I
suspect something in the security update has caused this. I've done disk
permission and repairs to ensure there's nothing unusual there, and
re-traced the workaround steps of removing the various files/folders
under /System/Library, but have had no luck getting the ARD2.2 admin to
start again.

Is anyone else having these issues, and if so, discovered any ways to
fix it? We'll be buying ARD3.x in the near future, but it would be nice
to still have ARD admin on the intel mac in the meantime...

cheers,
Mark
