All commands, send as root, don't display results.
systemsetup -setusingnetworktime on (if network time use is off then this turns
it on.)
systemsetup -setusingnetworktime off (turns off network time use, then you can
set "manually" like this:
systemsetup -settime 12:16:30 to set it to 12:16am and 30 seconds. It sets by
military time I think.
There are a whole suite of commands:
Usage: systemsetup -setdate <mm:dd:yy> Set current date to <mm:dd:yy>. Usage:
systemsetup -gettime Display current time. sage: systemsetup -getdate Display
current date. Usage: systemsetup -settime <hh:mm:ss> Set current time to
<hh:mm:ss>. Usage: systemsetup -gettimezone Display current time zone. Usage:
systemsetup -settimezone <timezone> Set current time zone to <timezone>. Use
"-listtimezones" to list Usage: systemsetup -listtimezones List time zones
supported by this machine. Usage: systemsetup -getusingnetworktime Display
whether network time is on or off. Usage: systemsetup -setusingnetworktime <on
off> Set using network time to either <on> or <off>. Usage: systemsetup
-getnetworktimeserver Display network time server. Usage: systemsetup
-setnetworktimeserver <timeserver> Set network time server to <timeserver>.
There are a few alternative commands too -
NTP
If they are NOT running ntpd,
/usr/sbin/ntpdate -bvs
If they ARE, send this as root:
SystemStarter restart NetworkTime (for tiger)
SystemStarter restart Network\ Time (for panther)
