The built-in feature to find files on remote machines is a good tool for this job... You can find files on remote machines and then copy them to your local machine, but it doesn't handle duplicate file names at all.

You could send a unix command to make a copy of the file in question (naming it uniquely by tagging with the machine's MAC address), then use the built in file collection function. I've done this with success in the past.
