It doesn't work whether the other machine is running ARD or not. We
do have that box checked. If any other ideas pop up, I'll take
them. Thanks for the info.

Is ARD running on the computer when you're trying to control it? If
so, you
need to check the "Allow control of this computer when this
application is
running" box in ARD's security preferences.
