I'm glad JRendezvous is working out for you. The only way to detect IP adress changes in Java is to poll for them, which is rather ugly. As a result I decided that this should be up to the application layer.

Ok... assuming that the application layer can detect the IP address change one way or another... what would be a "reasonable" way to update the ServiceInfo?

One could always invoke unregisterService() and then registerService(), but that seems rather brutal... any other alternatives?

It might be brutal, but I think it is the right way to do it. It also allows you to deal with adding and removing network interfaces dynamically.

By the way, I'm sorry that JRendezvous is no longer available on our website. We had to take it off because of legal issues regarding the trademark. I have not done a lot of new development on JRendezvous lately. It needs work before it can pass the official Rendezvous test suite.

Have fun,
