mDNSResponder UDP support

So I have a question for who ever out there might be able to help me. I've been looking into attempting to implement limited rendezvous/zeroconf support for service discovery into a system that lacks support for multicast.

After reading the proposed specs it seemed that it would be possible to get around this limitation by using udp to broadcast to the multicast address and using the mdns like a standard dns.

To this end I've tried testing this kind of functionality on my mac (running Jaguar) in an environment that also has the Howl mDNSResponder running on an XP machine. So first and foremost is the proposed UDP response implemented yet in the responder yet? Secondly, if this functionality is there does anyone have suggestions about how to implement / test it?

thanks,
-Colin _______________________________________________
