Another thing is that your host name has multiple labels, as in
"animal.int.bravo5.org.local." where as mDNS host names should be in
the form "single-dns-label.local." I guess JmDNS allows you to
register multi-label host names but they're really illegal. Maybe
that's the problem?
Nope, it isn't. JmDNS is getting the host name from the local hostname
(InetAddress.getLocalHost()); I hacked a new constructor which took a
hostname ("Animal.local." in my case). The problem still exists.
