Yes, the choice is still their. Multiple implementations of
mDNS-SD can coexist on the same machine at the same time, so
that option still exists.

This is good to know, as we're only students developing a game for a
term project, and signing licensing agreements may not be an option
for us,
depending on the severity of those agreements. It is very easy for us
to comply
with the terms of the APSL, however.
I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
Maybe I'll just write my own multicast discovery interface over the
summer break, just in case.
We'd much rather have you take advantage of our two years of
engineering effort to make mDNS-SD extremely efficient and reliable,
which lets you focus your energy on other things, but it's your choice.
