Re: Jetty and Rendezvous (Windows XP)

Just so everyone knows - the problem came down to the fact I was going through a proxy.

Adding *.local. to the exception list in IE fixed the problem and now I can navigate to my server in IE.

Hi Adam,

I have written a simple program that registers my Jetty server with Rendezvous and allows people with the IE plugin to navigate to my machine however whenever I try to navigate to my machine I get an error

The following error snippet was encountered:

"Unable to determine IP address from host name for zzzz.local
The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct. "

Is there a way round this?

It's possible that the mDNS Name Space Provider is not installed properly. Can you try reinstalling Rendezvous for Windows and see if that helps.

Is the Computer Name for your computer "zzzz" ? Let me know if reinstalling doesn't fix it and I'll send you a tool to print the list of installed NSPs.
