If you're using a Mac, then you don't need to install howl or
mod_zeroconf, since Mac OS X has a built-in mDNSResponder and a
built-in mod_rendezvous_apple Apache module. If you want to support
wide-area you'll need to replace the built-in copy of mDNSResponder
with the one from Darwin CVS.

In Terminal, type...
export CVS_RSH=ssh
export CVSROOT=:ext:email@hidden:/cvs/apsl
cvs co mDNSResponder
Then when it prompts you for a password, type in your Darwin username
and password like this...
