Does the iPhone SDK update automatically through Software Update? It hasn't so far, despite a new version being out since 10th September. If not, is there a way of being notified of updates?

What about the iPhone Simulator? Is there anyway of having multiple copies installed so that you can test web apps against different versions of the iPhone and iPod Touch OS? (The iPhone Simulator and, very occasionally, Dashcode are the only parts of the SDK I use.)

And what about installing the new versions of the SDK -- is it safe to just run the installer with the old version already installed and it will just do the right thing?
