Safari plugin development on iphone 3.0 OS

Hi there,
I am looking for some starter information for developing plugin (specifically) for Safari browser
included in the iphone 3G + iphone 3GS.

Quick google search for Safari plugin development gave me the following links which i suspect are applicable
only for Desktop version of Safari browser.

Now my question is whether a plugin developed for Safari browser (desktop version) will work as-is on iphone as well
or something extra has to be done to make it work or install on iphone browser.

Any help will be much appreciated.
