Life Science Apps

I thought that some of you might be interested in some UNIX base 
bioinformatics applications that have been ported to Mac OS X. There 
are also a handful of bioinformatics applications that have been ported 
and vector optimized for PPC Velocity Engine. We invited several 
researchers out to Apple to work on these applications. The performance 
is pretty amazing. SSEARCH is about 6x faster than non-optimized 
versions. HMMER Search is almost 9x faster!
