I'm starting to think about what the next free Photoshop plug-in should be.
The last one I released was that file format plug-in that let you convert a
single channel to a tabbed text file and/or read it back in. (I used it for
crossing the divide between Excel and Photoshop. One customer requested a
color version of it.)
On a number of occasions, I've heard different people in this forum talk
about visualization tools... Is there something (hopefully simple or it won't
get done) that might make it easier/ more useful to plot your data in Photoshop?
I've already had a request for a text datafile that is a cloud of points (x,
y, z triples on each line)... I would extend it to x,y,r,g,b for color and
cast the x,y coordinates onto a grid.
Any other thoughts? No, FITS is a royal pain in the butt. I've got a
partial plug-in that reads them but it is not finished and the standard is rather
large. DICOM is worse. My goal is to make something more simple and
useful.
Let me know what you think. I'm pretty deep in plugin code at the moment so
it may not be that difficult.
