Some time ago there was a discussion on viewing postscript files on OS X.
At that time, no really good alternative emerged. I just found the perfect
solution: Safari! Schubert_it, who makes the PDF plugin for OS X browsers,
now supports postscript. Get the latest version (1.2) here:
<http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/>
You'll also need a Ghostscript installation, for which there is a link if
you don't already have it.
So now Schubert supplies two essential document viewing capabilities on OS
X for sci/tech. The only way most of us around here read articles anymore
is online in pdf, so not having pdf capabilities in the browser is a major
flaw. I am really shocked that Apple and Adobe have not addressed this
yet, never mind the big hole where postscript sits. Thanks to Manfred
Schubert for fixing this lapse.
