For several months I've been working with FEMLAB made by COMSOL.  The 2.3
version runs over MATLAB, and will do 2D and 3D finite element problems
(including various fluid dynamics and fully coupled multiphysics models).
One of the specialties they advertise is handling of MEMS type problems.
They will be releasing a stand alone version 3.0  for Mac OSX soon that
runs on X11 and will be coded in C with a Java interface (much faster than
MATLAB based).
