There are actually a number of directories on the framework search
path. Which one to use depends on who you are, and the degree to which
you wish to share your framework with other people.

Please note the part about "Third-party frameworks should never be
installed in the /System/Library/Frameworks directory. Access to this
directory is restricted and is reserved for Apple-provided frameworks
only."
