Fink is (dramatic pause): OF DUBIOUS USEFULNESS to software developers who
wish to distribute their software to other machines. That's pretty much
what this whole "fink debate" here on scitech has been about.

I can't recall the last time I downloaded a piece of non-fink software that
required a certain fink configuration. Please educate me if I'm wrong, but
I believe it's the case that no one who develops software outside of fink
uses fink as a target platform for software delivery.

Not that fink isn't useful - it's one of the first things I install on a
OS X box. But it's not a useful dependence for software that's going to
live outside of the fink "framework" (heh).
