Using Gnuplot 3.8j.0 on Panther

Hi all

Does anyone on the list have experience compiling and using Gnuplot 3.8j.0 on Panther? I have tried installation via Fink, but it fails with "unknown package". Maybe I missed something in Fink Commander's helpfile, but is it possible to install the package from sourcecode in Fink?

I have downloaded the sourcecode from SFC and tried to compile it manually, but make fails with:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/ OSServices.framework/Headers/OpenTransportProtocol.h:710: error: conflicting types for `S_OUTPUT'
tables.h:91: error: previous declaration of `S_OUTPUT'
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/ OSServices.framework/Headers/OpenTransportProtocol.h:719: confused by earlier errors, bailing out

Since my knowledge of the Unix side of things is very limited (I'm very much learning with this little project :-) I can't really make sense from these errors messages.

Also, what other software is needed? E.g. Aquaterm or only X11?

I would appreciate it very much if someone can point me in the direction of a FAQ/Instructions or precompiled binaries.

Kind regards,
Jan-Hendrik
