There are now public beta drivers for DAQ cards from National Instruments. These support pocket PC, linux and Mac OS X! See the links below for more info.
If you just search the ni site for "NI-DAQmx Base Software" you get the main page <http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=14480&lang=US> which lists the supported systems.
* High-level programming interfaces for LabVIEW and ANSI C
* Linux and Windows driver for PCI/PXI E Series, AO Waveform, DIO-96 and USB-921x devices
* Pocket PC driver for PCMCIA E Series DAQ devices
* Built using the NI Measurement Hardware DDK (Driver Development Kit)
* A subset of the NI-DAQmx API
NI-DAQmx Base offers a subset of NI-DAQmx functionality on several operating systems. Additional advanced measurement services features include a clean, concise programming interface, programmatic channel and task creation, and tight integration with NI LabVIEW, features previously available only with NI-DAQmx for Windows. The new driver software also includes ready-to-use LabVIEW VIs and C function features similar to those included in the full-featured version of NI-DAQmx measurement services software.
National Instruments built NI-DAQmx Base driver software on the NI Measurement Hardware DDK and developed the software almost entirely in the multiplatform LabVIEW graphical development environment. This lightweight and agile architecture makes it possible to quickly develop NI-DAQmx Base driver software for additional operating systems and devices in the future.
