FYI

There is a project on Sourceforge that has an OS X driver for many of the generic USB-serial widgets that use the PL-2303 chip in them (Such as IOGear). It's a Universal Binary and I've found it works fine for me on my MacBook Pro (even with the Java RXTX library, unlike the vendor supplied drivers!), so if you're using one of these dongles and waiting for a UB driver, wait no more (Keyspan has had UB drivers for their stuff out for a while).
