There is a project on Sourceforge that has an OS X driver for many
of the generic USB-serial widgets that use the PL-2303 chip in them
(Such as IOGear). It's a Universal Binary and I've found it works
fine for me on my MacBook Pro (even with the Java RXTX library,
unlike the vendor supplied drivers!), so if you're using one of
these dongles and waiting for a UB driver, wait no more (Keyspan
has had UB drivers for their stuff out for a while).
Thanks for sharing this. I've been hoping IOGear would release a
driver soon for their Prolific based USB -> Serial adapters. Last i
checked (a few weeks back) their tech support said they were working
on it, but didn't have a date on when they would make them available.
