keyboard layouts, then that could wreak havoc on what actually gets
typed. Do you still have the same problem when both computers have
the same keyboard layout?
Yes. I tried all four combinations (US/French layout on the server/
client), and the only combination that works is US/US.
I have found numerous Web sites that explain that non-US keyboard
support is available only in the "VNC Enterprise edition", which I
did not try.
Also, I have learned from experience that ARD behaves slightly
different from the free version. I'm not sure how it's programmed,
but perhaps you could try using either the free version on both
sides, or ARD on both sides, and start to narrow down the problem.
ARD is more likely to support different keyboard layouts because it
was written by Apple.
I have tried the free version (OSXvnc/Chicken of the VNC) on both
sides. I also tried enabling "remote desktop" and accessing it
through Chicken, but never got a working connection. I did not try
ARD because there doesn't seem to be a free trial version. Anyway,
it's way too expensive for our setup at US$299 per user.
