LaTeX spell checker Excalibur is open source

Dear Apple Scitechies,

For most serious writings I am still with LaTeX-''Textures'' form Bluesky Research and for spell checking I have always used Excalibur 4.0.2, the spell checker for TeX/LaTeX. I have grown to like spell checking with Excalibur to the extent that whenever I need to check spelling in all kind of languages I would do this with Excalibur and the appropriate activated language directories. As I have recently bought my own private MacBook Pro I asked Rick Zaccone, the author of Excalibur for a MacIntel version of his wonderful piece of KISS-software.

I got a reply from Rick very soon where he explained that he has turned Excalibur into an open source project, because due to a health issue, he can't continue his developments. As I am not proficient enough in this type of programing I can't take it up but I hope that someone will at least create a recompile for the MacIntel architecture soon.

Here is the open source node for this project. Rick does not want Excalibur to fade away, so please take it up!

I really hope somebody will take over for keeping Excalibur alive on the Mac.

Regards

Urs
