OK, NI-GPIB is the driver for the General Purpose Interface Bus to
drive industry standard instruments for measurement and automation.
It's described here:
http://www.ni.com/gpib/what_is.htm
You need an interface board or device for your Mac and of course
one or several instruments which is/are GPIB/IEEE 488 capable to
connect to.
The driver software for MacIntel is for beta testing and
therefore you need to sign up for this in order to download and use
it.
I hope this clarifies what it's all about ;-)

Sorry, what's an NI-GPIB? Perhaps
you should include that, your link just points to a web sign-up
form... :-) Thanks

Those interested to beta test NI-488.2 for MacIntel machines should
visit www.ni.com/beta and select the product to register. You can then
download the driver to test it with your equipment. I urge you to do
so and show NI that the effort to offer hardware support for the Mac
is much appreciated by the community. You can help to improve the
software by reporting possible problems and at the same time show your
interest by using the software.
Thank you for your engagement and happy wireworks
